2019 nature walks with forager & archaeologist Tina Pommer



A two hour walk/outing in the locality of Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim. As always we let nature decide what we find on the day. Alternative dates available by arrangement. €10  per person walk. 4 minimum.Children under 12 with an adult free. Alternative dates for walks available on request.





Night sky in North Leitrim. Bring a torch and explore the sky. Cameras and telescopes welcome.

28 July, 11 August,1 September,  October:  Forage in the locality.  Nothing fancy just a look at what useful plants grow in the locality as the seasons change. Meet at the castle car park 11am.

On Request; River walk. Always interesting to explore the riverbanks and low laying landscape here in the amazing Bonet valley. Secretive water birds, insects and plants. Bring wellies and a warm coat. Suitable for kids and dogs. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.

Saturday 24 August: Lake walk. The landscape unfolds across the water and supports many things that are rare, insects, birds and other treasures await you. Suitable for kids and dogs. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.
Sunday 21 July: Tina’s garden relaxation. Have a cuppa and relax to the sounds of the river and watch the chickens and geese in this historical cottage garden. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.

Sunday 4 August: Stillness and forest bathing. Escape the chatter and busyness and just immerse yourself into the silence of the forest. Recommended for over 50s and infirm/injured/stressed. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.

Saturday 5 October: Connect with yourself. Surprise yourself with this unusual workshop. It is an introduction to the forgotten art of experiencing nature with all your senses. Suitable for adults, combats loneliness and stress. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.
Sunday 13 Oct: Dog welcome walk. Bring your doggy and meander through some nice secluded forests and learn a bit about dog training and handling those tricky life situations our favourite friends land us in sometimes. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.

Sunday 27 October: Fossil hunting, explore the local geology and discover the past eras. Meet at the castle car park 11am.
Saturday 2 November: Tina's tour of Manorhamilton. A quirky mix of archaeology, history and nature Suitable for kids and dogs. Meet at the castle car park 3pm.

Saturdays 7, 14, 21, & 28 September: Random ring-forts, plentiful and very diverse here in North Leitrim. Lets have a look at some of the shapes and construction together. Set of 4 walks on consecutive Saturdays. Meet at the castle car park 3pm. Prepayment for 4 sessions
